Execute and supervise dealings in accordance with Quality Assurance / Commissioning guidelines and Infrastructure project deadlines. Providing guidance and technical support on project certification, across the Well Factory and Infrastructure platforms.



Train, inspire and manage Quality Assurance and Commissioning staff. Coordinate quality and commissioning activities with Infrastructure, Operations and Regulatory stakeholders.


Contribute views on designs, constructions, proposals, RFQs, PSSRs, HAZOPs, HAZIDs, Standards and Specifications, during project and engineering meetings.


Develop and manage standard inspection and commissioning procedures, to eliminate defects. Manage with an overall goal of eliminating IWLs, building quality within the contractor process, to reduce and eliminate the need for QA.


Develop and track metrics to measure personnel performance and progress against objectives. Measure construction status against project schedule and report to management and affected stakeholders.


Keep abreast in planning strategies to achieve project completion with available resources. Assist and guide project staff in outlining commission responsibilities, to achieve an efficient, cost effective, quality handover to Operations.


Additional responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate and assign quarterly objectives for the QA and Commissioning groups
  • Assist and guide project staff in outlining commission responsibilities
  • Promote company standards by ensuring accuracy of systems results
  • Participate actively in diverse operational aspects of project commissioning
  • Reviews and approves non-conformance reports and initiates/coordinates HAR or RFI between contractors and Engineering support groups
  • Bakken technical authority responsible for reviewing and approving/disapproving specification deviations.
  • Balance inspection budget with quality visits and schedule
  • Monitor and trend Quality  key performance indicators to continuously improve the value stream delivery of Bakken projects with regards to Operational Readiness
  • Promote Hess Safety values thru Safety Trend Observations and Site Leadership Visits
  • Ensure design and RFQ packages meet the relevant Hess Standards and/or Industry Standards, environmental and federal regulations before Bid process.
  • Collaborate with Global Supply Chain to define and incorporate quality requirements in the procurement of goods and services.
  • Responsible for meeting Conditions of Satisfaction at time of turnover.
  • Audits the quality of manufacturing shops and recommends actions (preventive and corrective) to secure alignment with Hess Quality Plan
  • Maintain close communication and coordination of activities with the Infrastructure Project Leads and both Operational Readiness Superintendents
  • Work with North Dakota State Electrical Board members, to ensure project compliance with local regulations
  • Manage personnel work schedules
  • Attend HAZOPs, HAZIDs and PSSRs

  • Legally authorized to work in the US
  • 10 or more years of experience  in the oil and gas industry
  • 10 or more years of experience QA & commissioning projects



Bachelor's degree or higher
