Job Description:  From corporate HQ in Houston, lead a team responsible for the development and embedment of Exception Based Surveillance (EBS) in North Dakota (ND). Provide project management and oversight to ensure that Hess' ND organization has the capability to operate by exception across all elements of the value stream via an integrated system of surveillance and preventative maintenance pillars. Ensure project alignment with key Hess business and strategic objectives in ND including but not limited to Operations of the Future, Operational and Production Excellence, Project ONE, and, embedment of Lean practices. Ensure EBS Vision and Journey alignment between the Project team, ND business and IT groups. Facilitate project operating rhythm across senior leadership and front-line teams. Monitor critical path activities and resolve or escalate issues relating to project performance (time, cost, scope, risk, customer satisfaction). Ensure effective change management to establish a new EBS operating culture in ND. Ensure EBS project alignment with Operations of the Future, Operations Excellence, Project ONE, Lean deployment, etc. Advise on all aspects of EBS deployment, including people development, value stream management and continuous improvement projects / events. Ensure EBS processes and systems are embedded and sustained beyond the project. Act as communication link between Business and IT team members/ stakeholders to ensure adequate and timely information flow and IT related product delivery. Develop requirements and performance expectations for the EBS monitoring and work generation software. Support and maintain existing control network and SCADA systems from wellpad to end user.


Requirements: Requires Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Process Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering or foreign equivalent and 5 years of experience in the job offered or in a related job with oil and gas engineering experience in the area of production, transportation, operations and surveillance.

Must have 5 years of experience in each of the following: Lean, Project Management and IT software development; Oilfield production operations and related engineering and field based disciplines; Lean, people development, value stream management, continuous improvement and business planning; Project management or business process leadership experience including project management with IT related interfaces; Planning, scheduling and documentation; Oilfield data management and surveillance systems including Theta XSPOC, Wellview, SAP, Iconics, PI, SCADA software applications; Visual Basic for Application (VBA) and SQL database; and Control networks including fiber, ethernet, radio, cellular, and satellite.


Travel Requirements: Requires up to 50% travel to North Dakota
