POSITION SUMMARY

Corporate Treasury is responsible for managing the company’s global liquidity requirements, securing corporate and project financing to meet the operating and growth requirements of the business, managing relationships with lenders and rating agencies, corporate insurance, pension plan oversight, working capital management and cash operations. 

 

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Senior Treasury Analysts are a critical component of the Corporate Treasury team, responsible for complex financial analysis to support Hess management decisions and for the implementation and execution of day to day treasury activities. All of our Senior Treasury Analysts are expected to develop strong relationships with our business partners across the corporation. Senior Treasury Analysts are typically staffed within a specific functional area within Treasury such as Capital Markets, Pensions, Financial Strategy or on a dedicated business unit treasury team. While specific assignments vary by functional area, across our organization Senior Treasury Analysts are responsible for various tasks which may include:

  • Identify target capital structure and monitor cost of capital for Hess and its affiliates
  • Support corporate transactions including transactions to raise capital, acquire bank credit or acquire or divest assets
  • Identify and analyze financial exposures and develop appropriate risk mitigation strategies
  • Monitor and report the performance of investment managers in the US  and international pension plans and the US 401(k) plan
  • Manage daily liquidity for Hess entities, including investing corporate cash balances and executing borrowing transactions
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to further Hess Corporation strategic initiatives
  • Develop presentations for review with senior management
  • Support development of certain financial reporting disclosures related to corporate treasury activities

Hess is interested in developing well-rounded Treasury professionals and longer-term, there is potential for each Senior Treasury Analyst to have the opportunity to be staffed in a variety of Treasury roles.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience

  • 5-7 years of work experience, including 3-4 years of corporate finance experience
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills
  • Proficient in financial statement analysis
  • Ability to communicate effectively across multiple levels (written and verbal; internal and external)
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work well in teams
  • Ability to demonstrate strong initiative and willingness to assume demanding workload in a dynamic environment
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills

 

Education, Training & Certifications

  • Strong academic background
  • MBA, preferably in finance (completed within last 12 months)
