  • Responsible for oversight of corrosion control and chemical programs for wells and field surface equipment/facilities.
  • Works closely with Reliability Operations, Mechanical Integrity, Reliability/Subsurface/Facilities Engineering, and contractors in continuous improvement efforts regarding chemical and corrosion control programs.
  • Prepares and provides training to Operations personnel as appropriate.
  • Tracks performance through surveillance to provide basis for recommendations and continual improvement in effectiveness and efficiency of corrosion control and chemical programs.
  • Insuring proper chemical orders are maintained and executed.
  • Inventory checks and chemical rate adjustments (per vendor recommendations).
  • Maintain databases and provide regular trend analysis, performance and cost vs. budget updates to customers.
  • Ensure proactive safety approach in chemical delivery, truck treating, equipment hauling and scale squeeze pumping operations.
  • Ensure all applicable regulations including labeling are being followed at locations.
  • Single Point of Accountability for managing chemical provider contract and associated services.
  • Part of “on call” duty rotation a few weeks per year.




  • Experience with processes, procedures, testing and equipment associated with corrosion control and chemical treatment monitoring for downhole and surface equipment.
  • Knowledgeable in existing and emerging technologies associated with chemical programs
  • NACE or other industry training in oilfield chemical technology
  • Problem solving/troubleshooting skills
  • 7+ years’ experience with the application of chemicals in Water and CO2 Floods
  • Good communications skills
  • Proficient computer skills (Microsoft, SAP, Spotfire)
  • Knowledge of safety requirements and practices



  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate degree or technical degree preferred
