POSITION SUMMARY

 

This position will be for a plant process engineer at the Tioga Gas Plant. Work location and responsibilities will be located at the plant site.

 

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Provide engineering support to enable operations and maintenance teams to achieve business plan goals including:
    • Process and equipment troubleshooting
    • Identify opportunities for cost reduction through process and system optimization
    • Identify, lead and participate in root cause analysis (RCAs) for plant issues
    • Participate in daily operation/maintenance meetings to provide engineering / technical assistance as needed
    • Interact with operators and maintenance technicians daily to assist as needed

       

  • Manage or assist in small capital and process improvement projects including:
    • Developing project scope
    • Equipment specifications and ordering
    • Run project economics / analysis / justifications.
    • Update documentation such and process & instrumentation diagrams, operating procedures, Hazard and Operability studies, Process Hazard Analysis, etc.

       

  • Manage chemical systems, including boiler and cooling water treatment, amine absorption, pipeline passivation, etc.

     

  • Provide technical authority input, expert advice and assist in management of documentation for a Process Safety Management regulated facility, including Management of Change process, fitness for service, repair specifications, etc.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Experience

  • Proven work experience doing process engineering in a plant environment
  • Excellent technical skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Knowledge of process related standards (ASME, API, etc.)
  • Experience doing process simulations, preferably with Aspen Hysys
  • Working knowledge of process engineering calculations and/or software packages
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations (OSHA PSM)
  • Analytical thinker with interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively with minimum supervision in a diverse, multidiscipline team environment
  • Ability to work in a plant environment, including working at heights, confined space entry, climbing ladders, walking on uneven surfaces.
  • Oil and gas experience a plus

     

Education/Training            

 

  • B.S. degree in chemical engineering, or equivalent
