POSITION SUMMARY 

 

The GOM Process Safety Sr. Specialist will provide process safety support for the GoM organization. The individual will focus on identifying process safety related hazards, assessing risk and assisting the assets and functions in implementing fit-for-purpose technical safety solutions. The role will have a focus on facilitating risk assessments, MOC and SIMOPS plans.
This key role will be mainly office/onshore based, but will require the ability to conduct occasional travel offshore.  

 

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Facilitate / lead risk assessments and SIMOPs plans.
  • Act as process safety subject matter expert for Management of Change (MOC) process.
  • Develop and deliver process safety training to the GOM workforce.
  • Monitor, track and report out on process safety KPI’s.
  • Investigate process safety incidents and ensure sustainable preventative actions are identified and implemented.
  • Act as backup MOC coordinator for the GOM asset.
  • Assist in the development of the GOM Risk Management Plan for offshore production hubs.
  • Focal point to maintain process safety information.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Experience

  • 5+ years process safety experience in E&P offshore operations.
  • Knowledge and experience with relevant oil and gas industry codes, standards and regulations associated with process operations and safety engineering.
  • Experience in process safety hazard analysis and risk assessment methodologies including awareness of quantitative risk assessments.
  • Ability to assist in process safety engineering workshops such as  HAZOP, HAZID, Bow-Ties and SIMOPS.
  • Familiarity and experience with GoM regulations is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, with good interpersonal, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
  • Highly effective interpersonal skills, including oral and written presentation and communication to both internal and external audiences.
  • Self-starter who works proactively and is able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously to completion.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, Powerpoint and other software applications.

 

Education / Training

  • Prefer Bachelor of Science in Engineering or relevant technical discipline.
  • Strong preference for offshore Production operations experience.
  • Relevant process safety training qualifications.
