POSITION SUMMARY

This field based, team lead position is within the Bakken Infrastructure Well Factory Facilities team and is responsible for the management of projects supporting Hess North Dakota Operations. This position oversees field execution for the Well Factory Facilities, Small Infrastructure projects & Asset Retirement Obligations.  This position works closely with North Dakota and Houston personnel, specifically the Well Factory, Infrastructure, Operations, and various Supplier teams. This position will focus on significant strategic project initiatives in addition to standard facility project delivery. This position will lead various cross-functional groups, with an emphasis on delivering timely and effective improvements to overall delivery of projects and company goals and objectives. 

 

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The Point of Contact and supervisor for Field Construction Reps.
  • Point of Contact for Cross-Functional field execution needs.
  • Participate in pre-planning of future projects and the assignment of projects to Field Construction Reps.
  • Responsible for daily site visits for field observations and coaching opportunities.
  • Attends jobsite tailgate meetings & contractor safety meetings.
  • Audits contractor updates to project progress in SPS.
  • Track SPS metrics and recommend action plans for contractors to Project Lead.
  • Audit/verify SPS processes for future projects.
  • Audits/manages Field Construction Reps to ensure that facilities are constructed without deviation according to the IFC design.
  • Works with contractors to facilitate improvements through standard processes.
  • Communicates site impacts to Project Lead.
  • At Project Lead request, role of reviewer for changes that could either impact cost or schedule.
  • Responsible to assist with coordination of cross functional activities involving the project schedule.
  • Communicates and coordinates with Project Lead any apparent resource constraints on projects.
  • Facilitate weekly Construction Lookahead meetings.
  • Facilitate daily Field Construction Reps SQDC meetings.
  • Provide weekly updates to Execution Report and distribute to the team.
  • Provide weekly construction SQDC updates and tracking to Facilities Project Lead.
  • Ensure Team Project Files are current on SharePoint.
  • Responsible for closing and committing Daily Production Plan for Facility and ARO Demo Projects.
  • Field Execution representative for FEL, COS and Post IP walkdowns. Facilitates walk-down of facilities and distribute list of findings.
  • Leads field team in providing opportunities for system and design improvements to Project Lead for integration of these ideas into the contractor and Hess designs and processes.
  • Facilitate review and delivery of Turnover Package to Hess Turnover Coordinator, ensuring package completeness at each stage of delivery process (Facility, ICT, Flowlines, Risers/Cellar, Wellhead Tie-Ins, etc).
  • Communicates daily with Civil Superintendent for multiple handoffs between the groups.
  • Participates in drawing/P&ID reviews during HazOps, LOPAs, PHAs as needed.
  • Safety – Ensure EHS document requirements are met each month (per month for local reps, per hitch for rotational reps):
    • 2 TREND observations
    • 2 additional EHS audits
      • DROPS hazard hunt
      • Hands hazard hunt
      • JSA Audit (singular focus on any one of the safety topics)

 

Quality Assurance Facilitator

  • Receipt inspections (Ref PFD for Rec Inspection/MPL Correction & Resolution Process)
    • Coach/Mentor the Const Reps, fabricators & constructors in the execution of the onsite Receiving Inspection for controllable equipment, for the handover from the fabricator to the constructor, per the Process Flow Diagram.
    • Ensure Construction Lead or Rep participation in the onsite receiving inspection Process.
    • Ensure the Construction Lead or Rep review & approve/sign the Custody XFER Form, with list of identified MPL items, and/or disputed items.
    • Audit the MPL corrections, by the fabricator, which have been verified by the constructor QC as complete/resolved.
    • Identify if/when MPL corrections are not completed in a timely manner, and work towards resolution with the fabricator, to bring into compliance.
  • In process inspections/JWD (Ref PFD for const QA/QC & joint walkdown process))
    • Ensure that there is confirmation that the SOW & IFC’s match for fabricator rev’s, and interconnects. Support reconciliation process to resolve conflicts.
    • Audit constructor in process inspections. Provide signatures, on QA Forms, when avail.
    • Ensure participation of Lead or Rep in joint walkdown, assist with MPL List generation, and disputed items.
    • Ensure that Lead/Rep sign Custody Transfer form, with attached list of MPL’s.
    • Ensure that Lead/Rep audit MPL resolutions with general contractor, prior to QA sign-off.
  • Any other task assigned by the Project Lead and able to be performed competently and safely.

     

As a Leader

  • Participate with Field Construction Reps in pre-planning for their projects.
  • Work with the team of Field Construction Reps and contractors to deliver projects according to Design and Schedule.
  • Clear obstacles and pursue clarification for Field Construction Reps as problems arise.
  • Manage Field Construction Reps to their scheduled commitments.
  • Set clear expectations for Field Construction Reps and check on their progress regularly.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Skills

  • Strong Leadership Skills, in leading/managing diverse multi-disciplined work groups
  • Clear understanding of Project Management Principles
  • Clear understanding of Lean Processes and Techniques
  • Overall knowledge of Oil Industry Practices, Codes, Specifications, & Engrg deliverables
  • Basic knowledge of regulatory requirements and practices including but not limited to NDIC, BLM, EPA, and ND DoH
  • Understand and comply with all EHS policies and procedures
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing
  • Highly motivated self-starter with ability to work independently
  • Ability to manage deadlines and requirements of multiple internal and external stakeholders
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Adobe amongst other software programs

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree “or” relevant work experience.
  • 5-10 years of experience in Project Management, Engrg, and Execution.
  • 5 -10 years of experience in oil/gas Construction & Operations deliverables 
  • Demonstrated work experience, working with diverse, multi-disciplined work groups.
