Q. What is the Hess Talent Community? Joining the Hess Talent Community allows you to receive customized job and event alerts via email. You determine the types of jobs sent and their frequency.

Q. What is socialmatcher? Find jobs at Hess using the social network (LinkedIn or Facebook) best suited for your job information. Consider referring a friend within your social network for a suitable job at Hess.

Q. How do I apply to join Hess? If you are interested in joining us, please apply for a specific position on our website at www.jobs.hess.com using one of our job search tools. Click Apply, join our Hess Talent Community, if you have not already done so, and fill out the job-specific application.

Q. What sorts of jobs are available? We offer a wide range of jobs in many different fields in Exploration and Production and Corporate functions. Specific jobs vary from year to year and depend on business need.

Q. I can’t find a suitable job on your website. Can I still apply? We cannot accept speculative applications, but you can join our Hess Talent Community so that our recruiters can reach you should a suitable job become available.

Q. Do you advertise all your vacancies online? Not all vacancies are advertised online. In some cases, particularly for specialist, technical or leadership roles, we use established recruitment agencies to identify candidates. We also advertise some of our roles in regional, local and trade media. Q. Do I need to have experience working in the energy industry to join Hess? That depends on the type of position you'd like to pursue. If you're interested in a technical role, you need to have the requisite skills and abilities. Other, more general business positions like Finance, Accounting and Human Resources, may not require specialized experience in the energy industry. The job descriptions indicate the skills and experiences we are looking for from applicants.

Q. I have to travel to attend my interview at Hess. Do you provide any financial assistance to cover travel and associated costs? A Hess recruiter or hiring manager will review our travel and accommodation policies with qualified applicants before scheduling in-person interviews.

Graduate Opportunities

Q. I have already graduated and have some work experience. Am I eligible to apply? Yes. We welcome qualified graduates, whether they have come straight from school or with a few years' experience under their belts. You should still apply online via our job search engine.

Q. When is the application deadline? In general, there is no deadline for application; if the job is posted, you may apply at any time.

Q. How many graduates do you recruit each year? We don't have a magic number or a quota to fill – our recruiting decisions depend on market needs and the availability of top candidates.

Q. How long after applying can I expect to wait before hearing anything? The time it takes to review applicants varies. Successful candidates will be contacted within four to six weeks of submitting their application.

Working In a Global Organization

Q. Will I work outside my home country? Your first assignment will likely be in your home country, unless the vacancy you are applying for is based overseas. Hess is a global business and there are many opportunities to live and work abroad. These types of decisions are based upon both business needs and your personal preferences.

Q. If I have to work on location away from home, will my family be able to come with me? Families are encouraged to accompany employees if the assignment is long-term. Family members do not usually accompany employees on short-term and developmental assignments. Rotational assignments are for the employee only, as the employee returns home on days off.
