HYBRID ELIGIBILITY
This position works a hybrid schedule, spending time remotely and in the office in Houston, TX. The current hybrid schedule provides flexibility to collaborate in the office Tuesdays through Thursdays and work from home Mondays and Fridays. With our 9/80 feature you get time off every other Friday when you work at least 80 hours over the preceding nine days.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Hess Corporation is seeking a high performing individual for a dynamic gas plant position as part of a very collaborative team responsible for Hess’s North Dakota Gas plants.
With the continuing growth in North Dakota this brings additional new wells and other operational, contractual, and system changes and this position supports the design and build of TIPS and integration with SAP and other reporting structures. This is a gas plant role which supports maintenance and development of the TIPS and SAP relationships ensuring contractual and compliance requirements are met. This role further supports the Gas and NGL WASP model, and financial models used for reporting out of TIPS, SAP/PRA and other systems.
The job requires a proactive, self-starter who can multi-task, work independently as well as in a collaborative team. This requires demonstrated problem solving and decision-making skills that can be utilized while analyzing complex data for each plant.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for preparation of monthly allocation and settlement estimates for financial close
- Responsible for validating analytics for the allocations, settlement, and financial results
- Collaborate with the North Dakota Finance Support team to ensure monthly and quarterly pricing and statistics are correct and explained for investor calls and quarterly reporting
- Responsible for NGL and Gas WASP model development and maintenance
- Review and approve the Gas Plant allocation and settlement processes carried out by gas plant accountants in TIPS
- Work closely and build trusted relationships with field operations, commercial, finance and marketing to understand requirements, and to ensure accuracy and completeness of data
- In collaboration with Contracts and System Advisor, responsible for the management and documentation of existing and new TIPS structures and processes
- Manage 3rd party customer inquiries and resolve issues
- Oversee Owner Payable Sub Ledger (OPSL) and other payable/receivable accounts prepared by the gas plant accounting team
- Support and back-up to the subject matter expert for TIPS as well as the interface between SAP/PRA and TIPS
- Responsible as primary support for super plant accountant and small gas plant accountant roles
- Provide technical guidance, developing and training the Houston and Hess India GPA team
- Responsible for continual improvement: designing tools to analyze volumetric, contractual, and financial results which help explain variances to estimate and prior month trends supporting key stakeholders

- Work closely with Quorum and IT to design, test, and implement TIPS changes as well as document issues
- Respond to internal and external audit queries as required
- Participate in ongoing lean review and continuous improvement of accounting procedures, controls, and documenting processes
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience
- Minimum of 8 years of oil and gas experience, with at least 5 years in gas plant accounting preferred
- Knowledge of gas processing contracts, allocations, transactions or measurement
- SAP/PRA knowledge required
- TIPS experience required
- Sound analytical, interpersonal, organizational and documentation skills
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work in time-sensitive environment and meet deadlines
Education, Training & Certifications
- Business or Accounting degree preferred
- Advanced Excel skills required
- Intermediate SQL skills preferred
