HYBRID ELIGIBILITY

This position works a hybrid schedule, spending time remotely and in the office in Houston, TX. The current hybrid schedule provides flexibility to collaborate in the office Tuesdays through Thursdays and work from home Mondays and Fridays. With our 9/80 feature you get time off every other Friday when you work at least 80 hours over the preceding nine days.

 

 

POSITION SUMMARY 

 

This position is to join our Advanced Analytics team as a program manager. The analytics team at Hess is a high-performing team delivering end-to-end solutions to business problems that pave the way to a data and insights-driven enterprise. The program manager plays the pivotal role of leading prioritization and work management activities vital to ensuring the team is always focused on the most high-value work. In this role you will be asked to work closely with business partners to understand the value and readiness of projects, prioritize work, assign resources and track the delivery of those projects. 


To be successful a candidate you must coalesce business goals, strategic IT initiatives, data readiness and team capabilities into focused, realistic work plans; then manage the delivery of that work on time and in scope using agile methodologies. This requires you to have strong organizational, visual communications, change management and business engagement skills. We are looking for someone who is eager to learn, comfortable with challenges outside of their preexisting expertise and comfort zones, that can think on their feet and thrive in a dynamic environment while ensuring the deepest level of business partnership to ensure an impactful solution delivery and continued business relationship growth. 


In this role, you will be responsible for project delivery across multiple teams and initiatives, so you must be able to work through others. You will also need to contribute to and enhance a project delivery culture that is transparent, measurable, and agile. You will be given the opportunity to partner with our business units in a deep and meaningful way. You will develop a deep understanding for an oil & gas function such as drilling, completions, exploration, production and others. You will also be expected to stay informed of machine learning, neural networks and other advanced analytics capabilities along with external vendor capabilities to better advise their business partners to the art of the possible. 

 

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:


Business Analyst to assess, catalog and execute Analytics projects to drive value creation at Hess:

• Partner with business on a deep level to understand processes and possible opportunities for improvement 
• Understand and document ROI of potential projects 
• Assess viability of projects and chance for success 
• Manage work prioritization and the backlog of projects Project management and deliver:  
• Communication of progress and deliverables to IT & Business Leadership 
• Project management using agile methodologies with teams consisting of internal and contract resources 
• Financial and work management of contract resources • Contribute to the preparation of quarterly stakeholder presentations and annual budget planning 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:


 Experience 
• A deep understanding of O&G business processes 
• Trained in agile project management methodologies 
• Experience in advance mathematics and analytical concepts 
• 5 Years Professional Experience in O&G or Applied Analytics 

 

Education, Training & Certifications 
• Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Geology or Computer Science
