The Process Engineer will provide a range of engineering, technical, and operational support. They will serve to support the Maintenance, Reliability and Integrity program, regulatory permit requests and the management of change process.  This is a rotational position in the GOM that observes a 14/14 work schedule.



  • Maintain existing HYSYS process simulations.
    • Update models with latest flow rates, fluid compositions and operating conditions. 
    • Use HYSYS models to resolve process and operational challenges. 
  • Maintain existing P&IDs and safety flow diagrams.
    •  Redline changes. Coordinate drafting.
    •  Verify as-built status.
    •  Track drawing status in existing tracking spreadsheets
  • Support regulatory permit requests based on an established procedure.
    •  Update SAFE chart and safety flow diagrams for proposed changes.
    •  Write technical descriptions of changes for submittal letters.
    •  Interface with regulatory advisor and BSEE engineers.
  • Support management of change process.
    •  Provide process engineering reviews of changes.
  • Provide or review supporting process drawings and documents.
    •  Use an existing spreadsheet to track process-related MOCs and associated drawings and documents. 
  • Support the Maintenance, Reliability and Integrity Program.
    •  Develop performance standards and operating parameters.
    •  Develop, track and analyze Key Performance Indicators.
    •  Report status on a dashboard.
    •  Use SAP software for receiving, prioritizing and tracking engineering request notifications.
  • Provide process engineering support for studies
    •  Initiate and review process studies and calculations supplied by outside parties.
    •  Provide process engineering support for HAZOPs and risk analyses.
  •  Address and close process-related action items.


  • Bachelor of Science Engineering Degree in a relevant discipline
  • Knowledge of mechanical / I&E / static / subsurface equipment
  • Knowledge of offshore production facilities and operations
  • Expertise in process engineering principles and applications related to upstream oil and gas
  • Knowledge of GOM design standards and regulations desirable
  • Ability to size and analyze process and utility equipment and systems, especially gas/liquid separation, pumps, piping, compression, gas dehydration, chemicals, oil and water treating, relief systems, heating/cooling systems and seawater injection 
  • Ability to size and analyze control valves, chokes, pressure relief valves, flow meters, restriction orifices and piping
  • In-depth knowledge of API 14E, API 520, API 521 and API 2000
  • Firm understanding of process control, automation and safety shutdown systems
  • Highly skilled in using HYSYS for performing steady-state and dynamic process simulations
  • Experienced in process hazards analyses (HAZOPs) and risk assessments. 
  • In-depth knowledge of API 14C and federal regulations pertaining to GoM platforms
  • Experienced at developing SAFE charts and safety flow diagrams for GoM regulatory purposes
  • Excellent organization skills; ability to construct and maintain tracking spreadsheets
  • Highly effective at communicating ideas, findings and status orally and in writing
  • Proficient computer skills (i.e., process simulation software, Microsoft, SAP)
  • Familiar with risk management, work management, defect elimination, MOC, and document control processes
  • Strong analytical and complex problem solving skills with attention to detail and process improvements
  • Ability to work effectively with minimum supervision in a diverse, multidiscipline team environment
