POSITION SUMMARY
The position is for a Senior Advisor Geophysics in the non-operated Guyana Stabroek Appraisal team, reporting to the Subsurface Manager. This is a Houston based position providing geoscience technical support for exploration and appraisal activity for deep water reservoirs located in the prolific Stabroek block offshore Guyana.
The successful candidate will be able to combine strong seismic and geologic interpretation skills with quantitative geophysical skills. A high degree of competence in AVO and QI workflows is important, as is an understanding of seismic acquisition and processing workflows and seismic data quality issues. The position will require integration of geophysical knowledge with wells and seismic data at a semi-regional to prospect scale to contribute to reservoir characterization, volumes, well planning and drilling operations. Good communication skills combined with the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team seeking innovative solutions in a fast-paced environment will be highly valued.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Seismic interpretation from semi-regional to prospect-scale including generation and evaluation of seismic attributes (amplitude based, spectral decomposition etc.).
• Monitoring and reporting of ongoing appraisal well operations. Activities will include providing maps and updating seismic images while following operations activity, performing real time well ties,
updating volumes post drill and maintaining and updating depth-to-depth seismic updates.
• Application of quantitative interpretation methods with the appropriate tools to address subsurface risks and uncertainties.
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to integrate geophysical, geologic and engineering data to understand well results and their implications for exploration, appraisal and future development options.

QUALIFICATIONS
Experience
• Minimum of 15 years experience with roles in operators
• Experience and expertise to include seismic interpretation, AVO analysis and experience handling gathers, quantitative interpretation workflows, modelling AVO response, seismic attribute analysis, real-time geophysical operations including well ties. Familiarity with seismic processing, inversions and basic rock physics skills are advantageous.
• Experience in integrating geophysical and geological data such as deep water stratigraphic depositional and petroleum systems information together in order assess and prioritize prospectivity.
• Strong analytical and synthesis skills and commitment to continued learning and improvement.
• Well-developed sharing, listening, interpersonal, and collaboration skills are highly valued.
• Ability to manage projects with focus on delivery and presentation of results.

Education,Training & Certifications
• A minimum of an MSc in Geoscience or related discipline with a preference for Geophysics or Geophysical Engineering.
