POSITION SUMMARY
Under general direction, the Training Specialist is responsible for supporting the delivery of competency and learning strategy solutions to enhance workforce capability needed to deliver top performance.  This role will report to the Sr. HR Manager, Talent Management, Organizational Effectiveness and Learning.   

 

The fundamental ability to create solutions for effectively closing identified capability gaps is critical to business success.  The Training Specialist will work across the enterprise to identify learning and development needs and solutions with the goal of ensuring our workforce has the right capabilities necessary to safely meet or exceed our outlined business objectives.
 

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead execution of learning and competency assurance strategies and supporting programs
    • Work with others in our assets and functions to identify efficient solutions to close capability gaps and meet our technical and operational business needs
    • Collaborate with key stakeholders to maximize impact of planned execution. Track the effectiveness of training content and delivery methods.  Incorporate continuous improvements as required
    • Develop and deliver internal communications related to learning and development, including general messaging and status reports
    • Create and maintain competence assurance and learning metrics demonstrating progress to stated objectives
  • Manage internal learning and competency management systems and websites including SharePoint sites containing controlled documents
    • Partner with HRIS and IT for unified and proactive HR systems efficiency management to include effective integration and troubleshooting.  Provide first-line support for technical issues in the learning and competency management systems
    • Facilitate revisions to controlled competency and learning related documents and carry out the updates into the Learning and Competency Management Systems 
  • Maintain up-to-date course curriculum and coordinate participation in course offerings that lead to competence gap closure and enhanced business performance
    • Collaborate with designated authorities to design and deliver effective and efficient enterprise training solutions (e-learnings/courses/on-the-job training)
      • Research and simplify the enterprise e-learning strategy (technology, organizing principles, partnership with venders)
      • Liaise with vendors and instructors, prepare course material, and arrange logistics related to the delivery of the courses
      • Observe training courses and implement improvements
  • Manage the budget for learning and competence solutions (including quarterly YTD budget status & forecast report)
    • Handle vendor selections and payments

 

QUALIFICATIONS
Experience

  • A minimum of five (5) years experience managing e-learnings and other training solutions, including curriculum design.   Instructional Design experience in a corporate training environment a plus.
  • Strong consultation skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment 
  • Advanced computer skills.  Experience using a Learning Management System required; SharePoint and SuccessFactors Learning Management System preferred
  • Change Management skills and being adaptable to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment preferred.

Education, Training & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, HR Management, Instructional Design or closely related field; (Master’s degree in Organizational Development a plus)
