POSITION SUMMARY

This position will work directly with the Exploration & Business Services organization providing support for cost control and accounting processes. 

The primary role of the Sr Specialist, Finance is to provide financial analysis to business partners, enabling informed decision making that will generate value for the Corporation; and assure that accounting outcomes of historical, current, and future business activities are accurately reflected in actual and forecasted financial results.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with Business Partners, Finance Support Team, and Global Supply Chain to monitor and control spending, support PR/PO and invoice coding
  • Responsible for performing cost tracking & reviewing monthly Controllable Spend reports
  • Responsible for AFE preparation and monitoring
  • Prepare monthly First Spend and Capex forecasts and provide variance commentary
  • Responsible for preparing accruals and working with Shared Services to facilitate monthly CCD and other close activities
  • Assist with preparing Executive Reports on a regular and as needed basis
  • Work with GSC and A/P  to ensure proper coding and resolution of spend misalignment
  • Work with A/P to identify methods to better plan spend and vendor activity
  • Coordinate close out of PR/PO or any Vendor related activity
  • Participate in reviewing Industry guidance and applying understanding to Company activity (COPAS)
  • Evaluate G&A Allocation for appropriateness and determine if any corrective actions are necessary

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience

    - Minimum 5 years of experience in E&P Accounting/Finance   

Education

    - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related Business Administration field required
