HYBRID ELIGIBILITY

This position works a hybrid schedule, spending time remotely and in the office in Houston, TX. The current hybrid schedule provides flexibility to collaborate in the office Tuesdays through Thursdays and work from home Mondays and Fridays. With our 9/80 feature you get time off every other Friday when you work at least 80 hours over the preceding nine days.

 

 

Position Summary:

 

Within the Global Supply Chain (GSC) organization, the Plan to Contract (P2C) team plays a critical role in driving the seamless execution of contracting activities across all sectors at Hess, while also overseeing and managing key processes and systems that underpin end-to-end P2C operations.

 

The Procurement Specialist will report to the P2C Manager and is responsible for collaborating with category and contract managers to ensure timely and effective contract management, leading outsourced teams to deliver high-quality service, participating in daily/weekly operating rhythm meetings, and supporting/leading continuous improvement initiatives.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

For assigned area of ownership (Sector/Asset):

  • Leverage Emerging Technologies: Drive adoption and integration of new technologies to streamline Plan-to-Contract processes, increase efficiency, and enhance stakeholder experience.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the primary interface with internal stakeholders to understand needs and requirements. Foster strong relationships to ensure collaborative approach to contract management best practices, ways of working., and problem resolution.
  • Outsourced Team Leadership: Lead outsourced teams to consistently deliver high service levels, ensuring timely and high-quality service delivery that aligns with organizational goals and performance expectations.
  • Metrics and Process Improvement: Support GSC goals by working closely with category/contract managers to identify and drive improvements to metrics (e.g., contract cycle time, price book compliance, etc.).
  • Demand Planning Support: Work closely with category/contract managers to support procurement contract demand planning.
  • Project Management: Take ownership of specific projects and initiatives aimed at improving efficiency and/or stakeholder experience.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Have deep expertise in the end-to-end P2C processes and systems, offering advisory support and best practice sharing to category/contract managers.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives in support of operational excellence and be an advocate for change.
  • Contract Analysis and Risk Management: Perform detailed analyses to identify potential risks, compliance gaps, and opportunities for improvement as well as associated mitigation strategies.
  • Supplier Support: Work closely with internal teams and stakeholders to proactively manage and resolve supplier-related issues and ensure timely resolution.
  • Work Planning and Scheduling: Plan and schedule work activities within prescribed parameters to ensure smooth and timely execution of tasks and objectives. Provide inputs to annual business planning.

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in procurement and/or contract management (or related supply chain experience)
  • Expertise in executing procurement processes including demand planning, sourcing, and contracting, contract administration, and price book management and compliance
  • Familiar with category management processes and relevant contract terminology
  • General understanding and experience working with SAP, Ariba, Open Invoice, and PowerBI preferred
  • Proven ability to manage multiple competing priorities while maintaining a strong sense of urgency to meet deadlines
  • Working knowledge of category management concepts and practices
  • E&P work experience preferred
