Roles & Responsibilities

This role will be charged with performing calibrations, inspections, proving, and sampling of oil, gas, and water meters. Individuals in this role are responsible for maintaining sales and flare gas meters (Totalflows) and configuring new equipment installs. Proper tool use and care is expected to ensure equipment is maintained in good condition. Individuals are expected to perform all work according to standard work instructions and maintain organized and quality documentation where required. This role requires an understanding of NDIC, and BLM regulations as well as the measurement equipment as it’s related and the role it plays within the company and regulatory compliance. Individuals in this position are expected to actively participate in weekly team meetings, monthly safety meetings and maintain clear communication with the team and relay all safety and operating problems to the supervisor. This role will participate in Hazard/safety observation program as required.

 

The primary areas of focus will include the following:

  • Adherence to all Hess safety policies and procedures including Hess Rules, pre-job planning, energy isolation, and permit to work
  • Meter calibration, inspection, proving and sampling.
  • Perform calibration of gas measurement equipment while adhering to regulatory and API requirements.
  • Perform proving of oil allocation meters while adhering to regulatory and API requirements.
  • Pulling gas samples for gas composition analysis using the gas chromatographer.
  • Witness proving of LACT meters, including operating valves, connecting hoses and piping.
  • Perform inspections of meter tubes and orifice plates.
  • Conduct proving and calibration of NGL meters.
  • Demonstrates Lean knowledge and/or ability to learn following skills:

Work Environment          

 

  • Field based work (Keene/Tioga), standard schedule Monday-Friday (9/80), however must be willing to work weekends, holidays, and hours which reflect business needs, including overtime when necessary.
  • Must be physically able to climb stairs, operate valves and perform maintenance work under supplied breathing air equipment.

Experience/Skills  

 

  • Demonstrates knowledge of and/or ability to learn following skills:
  • Familiar with safety requirements and practices.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective time and schedule management.
  • Proficient computer skills / business system knowledge (SAP, Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Effective problem solving/troubleshooting skills.
  • Understanding of meter calibration/proving techniques and regulations.
  • Willing to accept responsibility and accountability for individuals and team productivity and delivery.
  • Read and comprehend operational procedures and drawings (e.g. P&IDs)
  • Industrial/Oilfield experience required, 2+ years of oil/gas measurement experienced preferred

 

Education/Training          

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associates or technical degree preferred.
  • SAP knowledge/training preferred.
  • Must have valid driver’s license.
