This field based, team lead position is within the Bakken Infrastructure Well Factory Facilities team and is responsible for the management of projects supporting Hess North Dakota Operations. This position oversees field execution for the Well Factory and Infrastructure Civil & Asset Retirement Obligations (Reclamation).  This position works closely with North Dakota and Houston personnel, specifically the Well Factory, Infrastructure, Operations, and various Supplier teams. This position will focus on significant strategic project initiatives in addition to standard civil project delivery. This position interacts daily with Drilling, Completions & Regulatory, with an emphasis on delivering timely and effective improvements to overall delivery of projects and company goals and objectives. 



  • Ensures field execution of projects adhere to scope, schedule and Hess standards/rules.
  • Initiate and Manage Construction Kick-Off meetings.
  • Conduct daily site visits to locations and approval of Work Permits.
  • Attend jobsite tailgate meetings, contractor safety meetings, and reviews JSAs on location.
  • Manage the scheduling of all civil project daily activities in SPS.
  • Ensure that all projects are constructed without deviation according to the IFC Design and/or COS.
  • Communicate impacts and design deviations to Project Lead.
  • Preliminary review and communication of all scope and schedule changes
  • Responsible to lead & schedule post job walk downs and facilitate project handovers.
  • Responsible to coordinate cross functional activities involving the contractor on location.
  • Safely plan and execute SIMOPs (simultaneous operations) with other functions
  • Communicate and coordinate with Project Lead on any resource constraints on project.
  • Work with land owners, state agencies & government personnel as required for stipulation & regulatory compliance.  Frequent interaction with the NDIC and ensures all BLM/Fed documentation is clearly posted on all location signage.
  • Responsible for ensuring contractors follow Hess Standard Processes and EHS Policies.
  • Responsible to attend all pre-drilling rig move meetings and coordinate all needed work prior to rig move to ensure route is safe and pad is 100% ready for rig arrival.
  • Responsible for coordination of civil support needed throughout drilling operations.
  • Coordinate all activities after drilling rig release to hand pad over for facility activities and handover for completion activities.
  • Responsible for the execution of ARO Reclamation Projects and handover back to Regulatory.
  • Responsible for completion of the required safety audit documents
  • Safety – Ensure EHS document requirements are met each month (per month for local reps, per hitch for rotational reps):
    • 2 TREND observations
    • 2 additional EHS audits
      • DROPS hazard hunt
      • Hands hazard hunt
      • JSA Audit (singular focus on any one of the safety topics)
  • Any other task assigned by the Project Lead and able to be performed competently and safely.

  • Participate with contractor in pre-planning for assigned projects.
  • Work with team of contractors to deliver projects according to design, cost, and schedule.
  • Clear obstacles and pursue clarification for contractors as problems arise.
  • Challenge less than desirable results and work towards positive change with contractor.
  • As they occur, communicate any concerns or impacts to the contractor so they can react accordingly in a timely manner.
  • Daily engagement on projects with the contractors performing the work.
  • As a representative of Hess, always behave in a professional manner and communicate with respect to those you work with.




  • Strong Leadership Skills, in leading/managing diverse multi-disciplined work groups
  • Clear understanding of Project Management Principles
  • Clear understanding of Lean Processes and Techniques
  • Overall knowledge of Oil Industry Practices, Codes, Specifications, & Engrg deliverables
  • Basic knowledge of regulatory requirements and practices including but not limited to NDIC, BLM, EPA, and ND DoH
  • Understand and comply with all EHS policies and procedures
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing
  • Highly motivated self-starter with ability to work independently
  • Ability to manage deadlines and requirements of multiple internal and external stakeholders
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Adobe amongst other software programs


  • Bachelor’s degree “or” relevant work experience.
  • 5 -10 years of experience in Project Management, Engrg, and Execution.
  • 5 -10 years of experience in oil/gas Construction & Operations deliverables 
  • Demonstrated work experience, working with diverse, multi-disciplined work groups.
