Roles & Responsibilities

Sr Technician Engineering - Surface Engineering is a key part of the Reliability Engineering team supporting continuous improvement in equipment availability and productivity for the ND upstream and midstream assets.  Working in a team environment, it carries responsibilities for analyzing and managing data to steward maintenance strategy optimization and equipment bad actor elimination as part of the newly expanded Condition Based Maintenance team. 

The primary areas of focus will include leading the following processes:

• Leverage new and existing technology to improve data capture, contextualization, and problem solving by allowing data to drive opportunity identification and prioritization more efficiently for the team. 
• Ensure all data is accurately collected for specific projects and processes and follows Hess Standards
• Coordinate with Engineers and others (Finance, GSC, Master Data, etc) as necessary to acquire information or report data or activities
• Provide support for development and maintenance of project and business plan metrics
• Develop Standard Work around daily, weekly, monthly responsibilities.
• Establish and maintain regular schedules of reporting
• Build out Exception Based Surveillance Value Streams consuming SAP and other source data

Work Environment    

• Office based role (Minot or Tioga) with 9/80 work schedule, but would require trips to all areas of Bakken Asset as needed

Experience/Skills        

• Working knowledge of SAP
• Proficient in SQL and VBA
• Proficient in Spotfire or similar analytical tools
• Proficient in or demonstrates capabilities to learn new skills and systems to enhance analytical processing skills (e.g. Powershell, Python, Dataiku)
• Good understanding of visualizing data
• Basic project management skills
• Proficient computer skills / business system knowledge (Microsoft Suite, SAP)
• Strong written and verbal communications skills
• Strong collaboration and interpersonal communication skills
• Strong analytical and technical skills with attention to detail and process improvements
• Strong organization, time management, prioritization, and planning skills and able to manage multiple tasks with tight deadlines for self and team
• Strong team skills and ability to work cross functionally with multiple customers.

Education/Training    

• High School Diploma -minimum
• Associated degree or higher preferred
