POSITION SUMMARY
This position will work closely with key team members from the North Dakota Human Resources team in our Minot, North Dakota office.  This internship will offer the successful candidate the opportunity to develop an understanding of the Oil & Gas industry and advanced human resources management techniques.  In this extended Internship opportunity, you will be exposed to highly skilled professionals across the Human Resources department.  The HR Intern will gain a better understanding of the various Human Resource functions and be prepared to apply their classroom knowledge in a real-world practical setting.  As an Intern, you will have a rewarding internship assignment that allows you to learn and develop the skills necessary to be successful in your career.  This role will be expected to work approximately 40 hours per week with some flexibility on overall schedule coordination due to company and personal needs.

 

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
There will be involvement in projects in the following areas:

  • Work with North Dakota HR Business Partners to delivers high quality HR processes through partnership with HR colleagues in Compensation, Talent Management and Acquisition, Benefits, and HR Services
  • Work on projects related to data integrity for the client populations, make use of quantitative approaches to enable data driven decision making, understand underlying issues, identify risks, formulate solutions, and engage stakeholders both in business and in HR
  • Work side by side with HR Business Partners, engaging people managers across levels to support overall organizational health, promote employee engagement, and drive high performing teams

 

QUALIFICATIONS
Experience

  • Demonstrate leadership skills with a focus on business application
  • Possess a strong sense of ethics and high integrity
  • Comfortable speaking up and asking questions
  • An eye for detail, strong sense of order and organizational skills
  • Desire to work in Oil & Gas industry
  • Desire to develop an advanced understanding of Human Resources Management
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and manage deadlines
  • Ability to work both independently and in groups
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

 

Education, Training & Certifications

  • Must be currently working towards a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, OD, Org Psych or related degree with a strong desire to build a career in Human Resources
  • Previous work or internship experience is preferred
