POSITION SUMMARY

 

Corporate Treasury is responsible for managing the company’s global liquidity requirements, securing corporate and project financing to meet the operating and growth requirements of the business, managing relationships with lenders and rating agencies, corporate insurance, pension plan oversight, working capital management and cash operations. 

 

Hess Corporation’s Treasury Summer Associate Program provides MBA students who have completed their first year of studies an opportunity to work within a fast-paced and challenging environment. Summer Associates are assigned 2 – 3 strategic assignments that evolve from a business need and provide hands on experience within the various treasury disciplines. The position is based in the company’s corporate headquarters located in New York City.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Projects and responsibilities may include working on innovative financings and capital markets transactions, reviewing capital structure for the consolidated company or its affiliates and subsidiaries, securing adequate liquidity to meet the strategic requirements of the business, analyzing the company’s pension portfolio investments, or developing strategies to mitigate risk associated with foreign exchange and interest rate exposures.

 

While the responsibilities of each work area and position vary, associates are expected to apply a variety of analytical and corporate finance skills.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education and Experience:

  • Must be pursuing an MBA at a top tier business school, with minimum 3 years of relevant work experience
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills

 

Skills:

  • Ability to demonstrate strong initiative and willingness to assume a demanding workload in a dynamic environment
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work well in teams
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively across multiple levels (written and verbal; internal and external)
